On Saturday, touted 2023 athlete Jaden Hamm announced an OSU offer via his Twitter account.
OSU’s offer makes 12 for Hamm, including Michigan, Arkansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Penn State and now half of the Big 12. He hails from Eudora, Kansas which is less than 10 miles from Lawrence. Both the in-state Jayhawks and Wildcats are on that offer sheet, as well. Hamm’s already taken official visits to Kansas State and Nebraska (twice).
The 6-foot-6, 215-pound high school sophomore has played a significant amount of his snaps so far on defense as an edge rusher, but a lot college coaches see him as enticing tight end prospect at the next level. That might not be the case with OSU, though, as Hamm mentioned OSU defensive line coach Joe Bob Clements in his offer tweet.
“(Coaches) like that I’m versatile. They can throw me down and pretty much use me as an extra offensive lineman and I can also get involved in the passing game,” Hamm told the Lincoln Journal Star following his first visit to Nebraska.
He didn’t receive his first offer until just before Christmas when local school KU came calling, but Hamm exploded onto the recruiting scene this spring. 247Sports now lists him as a four-star prospect and the No. 14 tight end in the class.
With some impressive athleticism to go along with his towering frame — and still two years to grow and improve — he’s got oodles of potential and his stock should just continue to climb.
Take a look at some of his impressive highlights, from both sides of the ball.
