The Marshall legacy won’t continue at Oklahoma State.
Jalen Marshall announced his commitment to Missouri on Tuesday. Marshall’s father, Karl, was a walk-on for the Cowboys in the 1990s. A defensive lineman, Marshall is the No. 730 player in the 2022 class and took a visit to Stillwater alongside and handful of the Cowboys’ commits in early June.
The Cowboys already have two defensive line standouts committed in the 2022 cycle. Landon Dean committed to the Cowboys in February. A jumbo athlete, who also plays tight end in high school, Dean is the No. 755 player in the cycle.
OSU also picked up a commitment from Putnam City North’s Jaleel Johnson in late June. Johnson earned an OSU scholarship offer after impressing at a minicamp in Stillwater.
There is also still a highly touted in-state defensive lineman on the market in DeSean Brown. Out of Choctaw, Brown is the No. 431 player in the recruiting class. He had 15 sacks and 30.5 tackles for loss as a junior last season. He was also in Stillwater for a visit at the end of June.
The Cowboys’ 2022 class ranks 21st in the country with 13 prospects committed. That’s good for fourth in the Big 12 behind Oklahoma, Texas and Baylor.
