In the midst of all this conference realignment madness, it is still watch list season.

Oklahoma State center Danny Godlevske was named to the Rimington Trophy’s preseason watch list Friday morning. The award is given to the best center in college football.

Listed at 6-foot-3, 305 pounds, Godlevske transferred to OSU this offseason from Miami (Ohio), where he was a three-time All-MAC honoree. He made 40 starts during his time as a RedHawk.

Originally from Bishop Chatard High School in Indianapolis, Godlevske was a three-star prospect in the 2016 recruiting class and chose Miami (Ohio) over offers from Ball State, Buffalo, Toledo and Western Michigan.

Godlevske was praised this spring for how seamlessly he transitioned to OSU.

“Danny coming in has really helped,” OSU offensive lineman Josh Sills said. “He’s super smart. He has picked up the offense really quick. Just his football instincts and football smarts, ability to read a defense is really good. He’s helped us a lot, and I think that’s really made everyone excited.”

Godlevske was one of 40 players on the Rimington’s preseason list, joining Big 12 centers Colin Newell (Iowa State), Mike Novitsky (Kansas), Steve Avila (TCU) and Dawson Deaton (Texas Tech).
