After COVID concerns canceled Oklahoma State’s tri-meet with West Virginia and Columbia, the Cowboys have found a way to get a dual in and at home no less.
Oklahoma State will wrestle Columbia in Gallagher-Iba Arena on Sunday, as first reported by Adam Engel. The dual will start at 2 p.m. and tickets aren’t required for entry. Unfortunately the dual will not be streamed.
The Cowboys are 8-0 in duals this season, having most recently beaten Little Rock 35-6 last weekend. Columbia is 1-1, coming off a dominant 46-0 victory against LIU. The Lions wrestle Lehigh on Friday night.
The Lions have a quartet of ranked wrestlers that could provide good tests for the Cowboys this weekend.
There will most likely be a ranked bout at 125 pounds between No. 6 Trevor Mastrogiovanni and No. 20 Joe Manchio. At 149, No. 22 Joshua Ogunsanya should provide a good test for No. 14 Kaden Gfeller, as should No. 19 Matt Kazimir for No. 18 Carter Young at 141 pounds. Columbia’s 157-pounder Kyler Mosher is also ranked No. 29 on InterMat. Wyatt Sheets is ranked 13th at 157, per InterMat.
This will be the first time Oklahoma State and Columbia have met in a dual setting.
