OSU Reportedly Contacts Five-star PG Skyy Clark After Kentucky Decommitment

March 8, 2022

Five-star point guard prospect Skyy Clark decommitted from the University of Kentucky on Sunday, and Oklahoma State’s staff has apparently wasted no time kicking the tires on the Montverde Academy star.

The Cowboys are one of several suitors to reach out to him in the wake of his recruitment reopening, and as of Monday they were in a long list of big name schools to do so along with Arizona State, Syracuse, Vandy, USC, Gonzaga and others.

The 6-foot-3 talent committed to the Wildcats in October and signed with the school weeks later, but his decommitment comes as starting point guard Sahvir Wheeler looks likely to return in addition to the expected additions of five-star guards Shaedon Sharpe and Cason Wallace.

OSU could lose both its seniors this offseason in Isaac Likekele, who at this point remains undecided, and Bryce Williams, who is gone, and sophomore guard Donovan Williams entered the transfer portal this week. It likely means OSU will take at least one (and likely more) signees in the 2022 class, though to this point it has just one commitment from four-star guard Quion Williams.

Point guard is top priority, though, and Clark — who was offered by OSU in July 2020 — now headlines a target list of available talents that also includes junior college prospect Dantwan Grimes and five-star high school standout Anthony Black.
