A breakdown of the latest AP Top 25 poll released Sunday — where Oklahoma State came in at No. 9 — shows the Cowboys have believers. Big believers.

They were ranked as high as No. 2 in a breakdown of the ballots across the country. That voter is Michael Lev of the Arizona Daily Star. They were also ranked No. 3 by Ryan Pritt of the Charleston Gazette-Mail. No other voter had OSU in the top-five.

Several, though, had OSU at No. 6 including Nathan Baird, Dylan Sinn, Ben Portnoy, Neil Ostrout, Chuck Carlton and a few others. The lowest they appeared on a ballot was No. 12. The full breakdown is below.

Ultimately, all that matters is the College Football Playoff rankings, which will be released Tuesday and should see a significant shakeup after a wild weekend. OSU currently ranks No. 10 there but could — and I think should — move ahead of Oklahoma on Tuesday. Its blind resume test suggests it should actually be closer to where No. 4 Ohio State is, but that’s a conversation for another blog. Truth is, OSU is getting recognized and should it keep winning it figures to be in the playoff mix in the final weeks of the season.
