Sawchuk joins Raleek Brown in Oklahoma’s promising 2022 class.
Happy Tuesday, friends and fans!
Following the epic ChampU BBQ recruiting event over the weekend, the Oklahoma Sooners have landed the verbal commitment of 2022 four-star RB Gavin Sawchuk. The Littleton, Colorado product has chosen to pledge to OU over Ohio State, Notre Dame and USC. He also holds offers from Alabama, Stanford and many others. Here’s a bit more on Sawchuk in Kamiar’s post.
BREAKING: The nation’s No. 2 RB Gavin Sawchuk commits to #Oklahoma. The #Sooners class rises to No. 5 in the @247Sports Rankings, tops in the #Big12. Story here: https://t.co/QkbizCihPz pic.twitter.com/jYbSwbOGZF

According to 247 Sports’ Composite system, Sawchuk is rated as the No. 1 player in the state of Colorado, as well as the nation’s No. 2 running back. With four-star Raleek Brown already committed, Oklahoma now lays claim to two of the top four RBs in the 2022 class.
At 5’11, 185, Sawchuk possesses elite body control, routinely showing the capability to shed defenders mid-sprint. He also has great speed, which makes him a home-run threat if given any amount of space. Even though he’s not a massive back, he’s definitely not afraid to run between the tackles, and judging by his offer sheet, he has the IQ to adapt his skills to just about any offense he’s running in. Fortunately, Lincoln Riley and DeMarco Murray should be some of his closest teachers at the next level, and that has the makings for one heck of a collegiate career.
