Brito was named to the PAC-12’s All-Freshman and Defensive teams.

Happy Friday, friends and fans!

Patty Gasso’s Oklahoma Sooners have added another dynamite transfer in rising sophomore utility player Alyssa Brito, formerly of the Oregon Ducks.

During the 2021 campaign, Brito started 53 games for UO at shortstop, where she quickly made a name for herself among conference ranks. By season’s end, she recorded 10 home runs and 31 RBI behind a .299 batting average while being named to the All-Pac-12 Freshman and Defensive teams.

Brito joins former North Texas pitcher Hope Trautwein as big-time transfers who have elected to team up with Oklahoma for the coming 2022 season.

Now onto this week’s Friday edition of Hot Links! Portal Moser might be at it again, high praise for the OU DL, and more!

OU Links

  • On Thursday, Spencer Rattler announced that he has partnered with Chris Cabott and Steinberg Sports for NIL representation. I’m proud of the young man for seizing this major opportunity has has in front of him.
  • Porter Moser may be eying another quality transfer in Oral Roberts’ Kevin Obanor. Last season, the 6’8” redshirt senior forward led the Summit League with an average of 9.6 rebounds per contest and was the second-highest scoring Golden Eagle with 18.7 points per game.
  • Many people are expecting this year’s defensive line at OU to be one of the top groups in college football. In fact, Pro Football Focus sees the Sooners as boasting three of the top four linemen in the Big 12. It’s high praise, especially considering this doesn’t even include a monster like Perrion Winfrey. Boomer!
  • Redshirt sophomore CB Woodi Washington impressed and showed flashes of greatness last season, and it looks like he’s ready to become the kind of lockdown corner OU has sought after since the turnover on the defensive staff in 2019. Sooners Wire’s John Williams has more.
  • Oh, and I almost forgot…
  • Make sure you check out Kamiar and Stephen’s latest discussion on the C&C Machine Podcast. This time, the guys talked about the groundbreaking NIL development, the outlook on Oklahoma’s secondary depth, and with the Fourth of July coming up — fireworks!
