The Pokes are moving on up – four spots to be exact in both the AP and Coaches Polls

OSU is blacking out the stadium, unveiling the next statue of an OSU great during the TCU game

Kickoff time for this weekend’s game against West Virginia has been set

• ESPN gave the Pokes a few paragraphs of thought on OSU’s CFP chances after the KU win:

The Cowboys rebounded from their 24-21 loss at Iowa State with a 55-3 thumping of Kansas on Saturday. It didn’t help Oklahoma State’s case that Iowa State lost at West Virginia. It’s one thing to lose a close game on the road to a top-25 team, but if the Cyclones spin below .500, it could be an issue.

Oklahoma State is ranked No. 4 in the country in defensive efficiency, but its offense has been mostly pedestrian. The Cowboys will have to win two of their last four on the road — Nov. 6 at West Virginia and Nov. 20 at Texas Tech. ESPN’s FPI only gives Oklahoma State a 35.4% chance to win Bedlam.

• This quote from Woody Newton, an OSU Basketball player who transferred in from Syracuse (and grew up in the DMV), is the epitome of why Mike Boynton is such a great fit in Stillwater:

“Ever since then, it’s just been real genuine. He was real nice to my parents, showed us around. I thought that was real big of him because he could’ve had someone else do that also. It’s just been nothing but love and genuine since I got here with Coach Mike.”

Ten Thoughts from the Homecoming win over Kansas

• OSU will play TCU in two weeks without their all-time greatest coach who resigned yesterday:

• This tweet from halftime had me rolling Saturday night:

This Matt Chandler moment is one of my all-time favs (faith-based)

This guy gets it:

This take on good/bad ideas seems like the right one.

“Your time is better spent championing good ideas than tearing down bad ones.

The best thing that can happen to a bad idea is that it is forgotten. The best thing that can happen to a good idea is that it is shared.

Feed the good ideas and let bad ideas die of starvation.”
