Malcolm Rodriguez is one of the best 16 linebackers in the country, according to the powers that be that give out such awards.
Rodriguez was named a Butkus Award semifinalist Monday, an award given to the best linebacker in the country. He has a Big 12 best 77 total tackles on the season.

Rodriguez has 356 career tackles, which ranks sixth all-time at Oklahoma State. He is only 13 tackles away from cracking the program’s Top 5, a list that has held steady since 1989.
There are 51 voters for the award. Finalist are expected to be announced Nov. 22 before the winner is announced Dec. 7. The award has been given out annually since 1985. OSU has never had a Butkus winner.
