It’s most definitely list season for the 2023 recruiting class.
Over the past week, Oklahoma State has found itself on a trio of top lists for prospects in the cycle. Here is a breakdown of the prospects.
Tre Wisner, , RB
Top 8: Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, Texas, Oregon, USC, Florida State, Texas A&M, Arkansas
The No. 177 player in all of the 2023 class, Wisner is a Top 10 running back in the cycle, according to the composite rankings. As a junior at Waco Connally (same high school of OSU corner Korie Black), Wisner ran for 909 yards and 12 touchdowns, rushing for 11.8 yards a carry. He also caught 18 passes for 241 yards and another score.
Listed at 5-foot-11, 180 pounds, Wisner isn’t what you’d call a bruiser. He is a speed back who is a versatile to the point that Connally also used him in the slot some as a junior.
S’Maje Burrell, , LB
Top 11: Oklahoma State, Florida State, Utah, Texas, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Baylor, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, USC, Ohio State
Listed at 6-1, 215 pounds, Burrell visited OSU in early March not long after the Cowboys’ staff offered him in February. As a junior at North Crowley High School in Fort Worth this past season, he recorded 104 total tackles, 13 tackles for loss, five sacks, four forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and an interception.
He is the No. 493 player in the class and is on the rise. A multifaceted athlete, Burrell also competed in the high jump and long jump as a sophomore.
Javontay Conner, , TE
Top 12: Oklahoma State, NC State, Florida State, Mississippi State, West Virginia, UCF, Virginia Tech, Louisville, Pitt, Missouri, Vanderbilt, Cincinnati
A 6-4, 230-pound jumbo pass catcher, Conner had a ridiculous month of February, reporting 24 offers in the shortest month of the year. He’s followed that up with seven reported offers in the month of March to this point. Conner played his high school ball in Alabama this past season, but he will play his senior year at East Forsyth in North Carolina. He is a three-star prospect, according to 247Sports. He is actually unranked in the composite rankings, but with his meteoric rise, that’ll change soon.
