OSU Falls One Spot to No. 23 in Latest Coaches Poll Rankings

September 7, 2021

Oklahoma State held steady in the top 25 of the latest Coaches Poll rankings released on Tuesday, but a close encounter with Missouri State cost the Pokes one spot. The Cowboys dropped from No. 22 in the preseason poll to No. 23 in Tuesday’s update following Week 1, likely a response to their narrow 23-16 win over their FCS opponent Saturday.

OSU is one of only four Big 12 teams ranked in the Coaches Poll. Every school but one — Texas — dropped at least one spot after Week 1, with OU dropping one spot to No. 4 and Iowa State dropping two spots to No. 10. Texas leapt four spots to No. 15.

TCU and Kansas State are receiving votes but just outside the top 25.
