Oklahoma State Junior wrestler Anthony Montalvo has entered the transfer portal, according to California Wrestling writer Pablo Di Maria.
Montalvo, who was a redshirt junior on the Cowboys’ 2021-22 roster, was the starter for the Cowboys at 184 during the 2019-20 season. He had a 25-6 record and finished third at the Big 12 tournament before the NCAAs were canceled due to COVID-19.
Since that breakout freshman season, Montalvo has had a bit of an injury-riddled career, only wrestling three matches in the 2020-21 season and missing the entire 2021-22 season.
He’ll have at least two years of eligibility remaining along with another possible year if he’s able to apply for and receive a medical redshirt.
