A fifth Cowboy has entered the transfer portal this offseason, this one coming on the offensive front.
Redshirt freshman offensive lineman Monroe Mills entered the transfer portal Tuesday, according to 247Sports’ Cody Nagel. Mills joins Tanner McCalister, Jayden Jernigan, Dezmon Jackson and Hunter Anthony as Oklahoma State players who have hopped in the portal. Jernigan and Anthony have already found new homes.
Listed at 6-foot-6, 300 pounds, Mills came to OSU as a three-star recruit in the Cowboys’ 2020 class. From Columbia, Missouri, he initially chose OSU over offers from Missouri, Iowa State, Illinois, Rutgers, Kansas and others.
Mills played in two games while at OSU, appearing against Baylor in 2020 and Kansas in 2021.
He becomes the second OSU offensive lineman to hit the portal, joining Anthony. As things stand, the Cowboys could lose four scholarship offensive linemen this season with Josh Sills and Danny Godlevske both being redshirt seniors. The Cowboys are bringing in three offensive linemen in their 2022 recruiting class in Tyrone Webber, Calvin Harvey and Austin Kawecki. This could be a spot the Pokes’ staff pursues in the portal, especially considering Sills and Godlevske each started.
