St. Thomas Aquinas standout Jalen Marshall, a Class of 2022 recruit ranked by 247Sports’ Composite as the No. 6 player in the state of Kansas, announced Monday that he will make his college commitment on Tuesday afternoon at 1 p.m. on his Instagram page.
Marshall, a three-star recruit ranked as the No. 728 overall player in the class and the No. 105 player overall at the defensive line position, is choosing between Indiana, Nebraska and OSU. His decision comes just days after the Pokes lost out on offensive line recruit Bray Lynch to Indiana.
OSU offered Lynch back in April of 2020, the same day Arkansas offered as both schools became his first Power Five opportunities. He has in the last year garnered offers from Oregon, Arizona State and Missouri, among others, but the Cowboys look to be in a good spot here. They were one of three schools to receive an official visit from him in June as did Nebraska and Indiana.
OSU’s 2022 class, ranked 21st nationally, could really use a player of Marshall’s caliber. While the class on the whole remains in good shape, there are just two current commitments at the position in Landon Dean, also of Kansas, and Jaleel Johnson, a Putnam City North standout who picked the Pokes last month.
Should Marshall pick the Cowboys on Tuesday he will push OSU from No. 21 to No. 19 in the recruiting rankings nationally and from No. 4 to No. 3 in the Big 12.
