Kenny Gajewski has made another elite-level signing out of the transfer portal.
Two-time All-American and 2020 national player of the year Miranda Elish signed with Oklahoma State to use her final year of eligibility, the program announced Monday. Elish opted out of the 2021 season after spending two years at Texas (including the shortened 2020 season) and two at Oregon.
In the shortened 2020 season, Elish struck out 96 batters in 84 innings pitched. She had a 1.25 ERA that year, going 13-3. At the plate, she had 19 RBIs in 54 at-bats with seven doubles and four home runs.
As a junior for the Longhorns in 2019, Elish was a NFCA third-team All-American going 18-10 with a 1.81 ERA over 37 appearances. She struck out 226 batters that season. Elish had a .315 batting average with 10 doubles, six home runs and 27 RBI.
Coming out of high school Elish was in the No. 1 recruit in the nation, according to FloSoftball. Competing at Crown Point in Indiana, she was a 2016 MaxPreps first team All-American, a three-time Indiana Gatorade Player of the Year and the 2014 MaxPreps National Sophomore of the Year.
Elish joins an elite list of players Gajewski has signed from the portal, coming after Samantha Show, Carrie Eberle, Alysen Febrey and others.
Elish joins a Cowgirl team that has been to back-to-back Women’s College World Series in 2019 and 2021 (the tournament was canceled in 2020).
