The Cowboys have played six games this season but have won nine Big 12 weekly awards.
Oklahoma State had two Big 12 players of the week following its 32-24 victory in Austin. Jason Taylor won the conference’s Defensive Player of the Week, and Jaylen Warren won the league’s Newcomer of the Week.
Taylor had a momentum-swinging pick-six in the second quarter against the Longhorns. Texas was threatening to go up 24-3 before half, but Taylor’s 85-yard catch and run made UT’s lead 17-10. He also had seven tackles on the day, tied for the second-most on the team.
It was business as usual for Warren, who toted the rock 33 times for 193 yards. He also had a pair of receptions.
It’s neither of these guys first time to win a weekly award. This is the third time Warren has won Newcomer of the Week. He also won the Offensive Player of the Week award after playing Boise State.
Taylor was the Special Teams Player of the Week after blocking a would-be game-winner on the blue turf.
