OSU Announces Spring Football Finale Start Time, Details for Orange Power Weekend

April 18, 2022

Oklahoma State’s spring football finale will take place Saturday, April 23, with the spring football game practice located inside Boone Pickens Stadium, the school announced on Monday. The event — more of a practice than a scrimmage because offensive line depth is too shallow at present, according to Mike Gundy — will start at 1 p.m.

Admission to the finale is free.

Here is everything you need to know ahead of the Saturday practice and what looks to be a fun-filled Friday, Saturday and Sunday that OSU is calling “Orange Power Weekend.”

Parking

Campus lots — with the exception of Lot 4 and Lot 10 — are open to the public unless otherwise noted. Hall of Fame avenue will be blocked between Washington and Knoblock streets between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. McElroy Avenue will be blocked off between Washington and Knoblock Streets between 3:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.

You can find a full parking map here.

Tailgating

There’s tailgating for a spring football practice? Well, yes, of course. In fact, it is “highly encouraged,” OSU says, especially with three days of events (baseball, softball and the spring game) flooding the schedule. Tailgating can be done in the area east of the oval immediately north of the Sherman Smith Training Center the entire weekend.

Fans can set up tailgates beginning at noon on Friday.

Here’s a look at the full schedule for the weekend.

Friday, April 22

  • 6 p.m.: OSU softball vs. Texas (Cowgirl Stadium in Stillwater)
  • 6 p.m.: OSU baseball vs. TCU (O’Brate Stadium in Stillwater)

Saturday, April 23

  • 1 p.m.: OSU football spring finale (Boone Pickens Stadium)
  • 6 p.m.: OSU baseball vs. TCU (O’Brate Stadium in Stillwater)
  • 6:30 p.m.: OSU softball vs. Texas (Cowgirl Stadium in Stillwater)

Sunday, April 24

  • 1 p.m.: OSU softball vs. Texas (Cowgirl Stadium in Stillwater)
  • 1:30 p.m.: OSU baseball vs. TCU (O’Brate Stadium in Stillwater)
Orange Power Tailgate Party

In addition to the spring football finale and both baseball and softball games, Orange Power Weekend also has a tailgate scheduled for 3-5 p.m. on Saturday located north of the Sherman Smith Center. Admission is free and includes tailgating, a live DJ, inflatables, and a mechanical bull.

Football’s first pitches

If you’re in town and can make the baseball and softball games, then of course: Ya gotta do it. But OSU has a nice little sweetener to get you in, with some of the football coaches kicking off this weekend’s games. Mike Gundy will toss the honorary first pitch for Friday’s baseball game vs. TCU; Derek Mason will do it for Saturday’s baseball game; and Kasey Dunn gets last dibs on Saturday.

Good luck topping A.J. Ferrari, coaches!
