Cowboys Slide Six Spots in Coaches Poll Following Loss in Ames

Oklahoma State came back from Ames with its first loss of the season, and the coaches came back to Earth a bit on the Cowboys.

OSU fell from No. 9 to No. 15 in this week’s AFCA Coaches ranking, still the second among now four Big 12 teams in the ranking.

Elsewhere in the league, Oklahoma dropped two spots to No. 4 after it had to come back — and benefit from another fourth-quarter, fourth-down play — just to beat Kansas. Those Jayhawks head to Stillwater this weekend.

Iowa State is back in the ranking at 23 after its first win over OSU. Baylor moved up from 20 to 18 during a bye week.
